History of Pilates

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates in Germany.
Joseph Pilates was a boxer and gymnast whose theories about how the body moves were first developed in World War One at a prisoner of war camp where he served as a medic and nurse. To rehabilitate wounded soldiers he attached springs to the hospital beds and today, Pilates equipment still uses springs for resistance.

The effects of Pilates

Pilates is a sophisticated exercise system that retrains the body’s posture, alignment, and biomechanics. By performing the exercises and understanding the underlying principles, the benefits of Pilates can be many. Here are just some of them:

Pilates studio UCO offers a private, one on one session, Duets, (Semi-Privates) and group classes with Mat and Pilates equipment. Group classes have only a maximum of five students.
Everyone from Pilates beginner to expert can take a great session will help improve one’s body.
